Here at Designed4Doors, we are pleased to stock many designs of Mortice, Rim and Centre Door Knobs. We know from experience that it can sometimes be difficult to cut through the ‘door jargon’, and recognise clearly the differences between these types of door knobs:
Mortice door knobs are the most common type of door knobs on sale. They are used on many internal doors in conjunction with mortice latches, and are set within the door. Rim door knobs are different in that they are used in conjunction with a surface-mounted rim lock or latch. The third frequently-found style - centre door knobs – are normally considerably larger in size, and are fitted not at the side but in the centre of the door, being used simply to push or pull the door (without the need for any turning motion). Centre door knobs are also frequently used for purely cosmetic purposes on larger front doors to add a sense of grandeur.
Here, our ranges of mortice door knobs include attractive designs from top brands such as Carlisle Brass and Fulton & Bray, in a wide variety of finishes from brass to bronze and chrome to crystal.
Our mortice door knobs are supplied in pairs, and come with a mechanical warranty (usually in the order of 10 years, full details are available on each product page).
